Overview

When you load the Facilitation Menu, it will automatically be populated by the information that is stored within the ‘@About.json’ configuration file.  In order to configure the menu, we must navigate to our Program and enter the @Facilitation folder.

Understanding the @Facilitation Folder

This directory contains all of the information that will be used by the Facilitator menu.   It contains ‘@About.json’, which contains the configuration information for the menu, as well as the ‘@Discussions’ folder, containing the configuration files for individual discussions.

Configuring the Facilitator Menu

Navigate the the @Facilitation folder in the desired Program. Open ‘@About.json’ in a JSON editor, such as JSON Editor Online.

There are four sections to this file; Big Ideas, Objectives, Introductions and Instructions.  These are the introductory sections before the discussions that help to describe the program that is being facilitated.

Three of the four sections are arrays; this means they can contain multiple pieces of data without unique names.  Each section – Big Ideas and Objectives – will take each point of data within the corresponding arrays and show them as bullet points beneath that section.  Introductions will be shown as a numbered list.   The instruction section can contain rich text and will be placed within the ‘Plan’ section, beneath the introductions.
