Software Licensing

From CLIO

Overview

Software licensing is how the use or redistribution of software is handled. A software license typically grants an end-user the permission to use the software in ways that may otherwise be considered copyright infringement of the software owner's rights to the source code. Where there are many different software licenses, they can generally be grouped into two types: Open Source and Closed Source.
